Spend three months learning inside a working Belgian kitchen, owned and run by a member of The 33 Masterchefs of Belgium, with the option to extend to six months if you and your host both agree. Culinary Bridge handles the application and the administrative paperwork, so you can focus on the craft. All internships are conducted in English.
The 33 Masterchefs of Belgium are among the country’s most distinguished culinary professionals. Every member is an independent chef-owner, admitted on the nomination of existing members in recognition of exceptional skill, creativity and dedication to the craft. Together with the Compagnons de la Toque Blanche, they form a network of some of Belgium’s finest kitchens.
Culinary Bridge is the official UK representative of The 33 Masterchefs of Belgium. We coordinate your application and the Belgian administrative paperwork from first enquiry through to arrival: matching you with a suitable host, preparing the file, and keeping every party aligned. You concentrate on cooking; we manage the process.
This programme is for graduates and alumni of Le Cordon Bleu London who wish to complete a supervised internship in a Belgian kitchen.
Qualification. A diploma from Le Cordon Bleu London. Belgian rules require evidence of the qualification level. Culinary Bridge supplies this to the authorities, so you do not need to obtain it yourself.
Timing. Your internship must start no later than two years after the graduation date of your most recent diploma. It must be a diploma; a certificate or any other award does not count.
Location and language. Placements are in Flanders, the Dutch-speaking region of Belgium. We do not currently offer placements in Brussels, Wallonia or elsewhere. All internships are conducted in English, and you do not need to speak Dutch.
Discipline. Cuisine and pastry. Most of our hosts are restaurants, so pastry places are fewer and depend on availability.
Eligibility criteria apply.
Enquire. Email us with the details listed under Apply below. We reply with full information on the programme and the process.
Apply. If you wish to proceed, we send you the Pre-Screen Form, our Terms and Conditions and the payment details. You return the completed form and pay the application fee, and we review your application.
Match. If your application is accepted, we look for a suitable host and offer you a placement. You accept and pay the processing fee.
Prepare. You gather your documents. We and your host prepare the agreements and the application.
Authorise. Where a permit and visa are required, your host submits the permit application, the authorities decide, and you apply for your visa from your country of residence.
Arrive. You travel, register locally and begin your internship.
“The Head Chef was very supportive, always willing to help, share knowledge and guide whenever needed.”
